A long-time Assos mainstay, completely redesigned to fit a woman’s body and riding style. When used as part of the Assos Layering System, the Intermediate Evo is the go-to top for days that are anything from cool (60° and below) to downright cold (Assos calls that 46°). We are able to use it heavily during the coolest three seasons of the year here in Northern California simply by varying the base layer we use beneath it and stuffing an ElementZero vest or Luftschutz in the pocket.
The incredible flexibility of the Evo is due to the use of just the right fabric in just the right place. The frontal area of the Evo is fabricated from the same Assos’ Airblock 799 fabric that you’ll find in their ElementZero vest while the sleeves and back are made from two distinct types of breathable, four-way stretch fabric and give the Intermediate Evo a perfectly snug fit and superb venting capabilities.
The Intermediate Evo is one piece where Assos’ AEPD II (Advanced Ergonomic Pattern Design) shows its incredible merit. Because you’ll be wearing the Intermediate Evo with a baselayer, bib shorts or tights and some kind of shell, you need all pieces to compliment each other and to all click into the same place when you drop onto the saddle. AEPD II gives Assos a method for ensuring that all of their garments are tailored with the same ergonomic standards and provide protection and comfort in distinct conditions. Hard to explain, pretty easy to understand when you pull on a full Assos’ kit and jump on the bike.
