We’ll admit it. We tried a lot of other long finger, summer gloves. We even believed that some were even pretty good. Until we tried the Assos LongSummerGloves that is. Fabricated for any day between 50 and 80 °F, the LongSummerGloves are a favorite around the shop for the cool, foggy days that never seem to be in short supply in May and June and for any off-road ride.
The LongSummer have a pad placement that is indistinguishable from their traditional SummerGloves, but the palm of the glove is fabricated from a 3D honeycomb micro-mesh that promotes airflow. The top of the LongSummer glove is made from a super fine mesh with a terry thumb to catch errant drops of bodily fluid.
True to their Swiss desire for the most elegant solution, Assos has designed the LongSummer with no mechanical closure system; all that’s needed to keep the glove in place is a triangular patch of Lycra. Maybe that’s why we love the LongSummer more than any other long finger glove we’ve tried? They’re long finger gloves as only the Swiss can do them
