Kris doesn’t talk much about his successes; he’d rather focus on the task at hand. If you ask him, while he’s overhauling a bottom bracket, or fine-tuning a Super Record gruppo, about traversing the Teton mountain range in a single afternoon, or crushing a stacked Pro/1 field on race day, you may get some insight into his successes. And if he doesn’t answer… you’ve just gained insight into his focus.
A nutrition junkie and a former carpenter hailing from rural Eastern Idaho, Lunning has tended his own flock of chickens, built houses, welded sculptures and rebuilt engines. He’s good in the shop, he’s good in the kitchen, and he’s good on the bike.
